Quote from contact

"The Employee's first three months are probationary. During this probationary period, the Employee's employment may be terminated without notice."

AI Insight

This is a probationary period, which is legal under British Columbia employment standards for three months only. Under the common law, however, employees could be entitled to notice of termination even if they are terminated before three months has expired. Consider removing this clause and defaulting to the common law.

Risk Level: High

Quote from contact

"The Employee agrees that the Employer has the right to change the Employee's job title, position, duties and/or place of employment in the same city, with notice, without any such change constituting a breach of this Agreement, a constructive dismissal, or a change in the rights and obligations of the parties under this Agreement."

AI Insight

This clause gives the employer a lot of discretion to change the terms of employment. It would be better to limit this discretion or provide for additional compensation if significant changes are made.
